Cloud9 hire Elmapuddy as assistant coach for CSGO roster
North American esports organization Cloud9 has announced they have hired Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit as their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team’s newest Assistant Coach and Analyst. Elmapuddy is known for his prior role on Australian organization ORDER and for his YouTube channel, where he shares analysis on matches.

“Really happy to [be] joining Cloud9! Time to get to work with this exciting new roster,” said Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit on social media following the announcement. Elmapuddy is an Australian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive coach who began his career in September of 2019 on ORDER. The Australian CSGO team went on to a 13 – 16th finish at Season 8 of the ESL Pro League Finals.
However, most of the other events the team attended were Oceanic and Australia regional specific, which means that the tier of the event was also low. This includes a 1st place finish in Australia’s Season 30 of the ESEA Premier Division along with Season 8’s ESL Australia and New Zealand Championship. Both esports tournaments only resulted in a prize pool around $5,000 each.
Tebbit departed from the organization in July and seemed to have been focusing on his YouTube channel instead. He posts about once a week with videos of useful CSGO knowledge. This includes analyses of the successes and failures by organizations at events. Elmapuddy also covers the strategies that these teams utilize.
Cloud9 CSGO
Cloud9 recently made several roster changes in July after poor results at events. The team would consistently finish in the lower half of the bracket. The only player retained was long-time member Timothy “autimatic” Ta. René “cajunb” Borg and Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey were let go from the roster. Will “RUSH” Wierzba was benched from the team, and Maikil “Golden” Selim loaned to Fnatic. Daniel “vice” Kim also recently announced his retirement to pursue his studies instead.
The current roster consists of Timothy “autimatic” Ta, in-game leader Damian “daps” Steele, Kenneth “Koosta” Suen, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, and Óscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho. James “JamezIRL” Macaulay will be the coach, after Soham “valens” Chowdhury moved to a Data Scientist role.
With the new roster, Cloud9 placed 4th at 2019’s BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles after a loss to Team Liquid. The roster also placed 3 – 4th at the 2019 Arctic Invitational and Series 1 of Season 8’s Esports Championship Series for North America. The team is still currently playing in Season 8’s ECS, which will end on Oct 31.
